How the trade calculator values each item
Bongo Cat never prints a number on a hat, so the calculator has to build value from something the game actually defines. It uses the trade-up ladder: ten items of one rarity fuse into a single item of the next tier up. Run that forward and every rarity gets a Commons-equivalent price. A Common is 1, an Uncommon 10, a Rare 100, an Epic 1,000, and a Legendary 10,000. When you drop items on each side, the totals are just that ladder value summed, times how many of each you hold. It is the game own exchange rate, not a market guess.
Rarity alone misses one thing, though: whether you can still get an item. A base Legendary you can farm forever is a different proposition from a beta drop that stopped appearing when the window closed, even though both read 10,000 on the ladder. So the calculator watches the scarcity field behind every item and raises a flag when a side holds a retired event or beta piece. The number stays honest and unchanged; the flag just reminds you to add a collector premium the flat ladder cannot see.
