All Bongo Cat Skins and How to Get Them

Every skin we can name and source, 54 of them, with the route to each one and a checklist that keeps score of what you already own.

The short version: in Bongo Cat, all skins sit in their own equip slot, separate from the hats, and the developer has never published a skin total. This page names 54 of them: 17 that Steam or the developer calls a skin in writing, and 37 more that we classify from the item name. By route that is 31 from chests, 15 from paid DLC, 7 from events that have closed, and 1 from the supporter shop.

How to get skins in Bongo Cat

In Bongo Cat, all skins arrive by one of four routes, and those routes suit very different players. The table below is the honest version, including who each route is a bad fit for.

Chest drops are free and slow

Chests are the only route that costs nothing. Real keyboard and mouse input builds points, a chest arrives after roughly 30 active minutes, and what comes out is random. In Bongo Cat, all skins that drop from chests share the odds of their rarity rather than their own number, so a legendary skin sits behind the same 1 in 500,000 wall as a legendary hat. That is why the chest column above holds 31 of the 54 skins on this page but takes the longest to finish. Paid DLC skins arrive instantly

Five cosmetic packs on Steam sell skins outright: God, Wrestler, Mecha, Squirrel and Wild Wonders. Three of the five pair every skin with a matching hat, which is where the clearest official wording comes from. The God Pack page, for instance, lists a Zeus skin next to a Godly Thunderclouds hat. The Mecha Pack is the exception and ships three skins with no paired hats. Full pack contents and dates sit on the events and DLC page.

Event skins have all closed

Event skins were free while they ran and are gone now. The Halloween costume trio was claimable for one week in October and November 2025. Blood Splatter was granted to everyone for two days after the Bongo Royale mode test. The Nightwater collab items were later pulled because incentivised rewards broke Steam guidelines. None of these come back, which is the main reason a skin list needs a date column rather than a price.

Skins and hats are two separate slots

This trips people up constantly, because most fan lists lump both into one pile of items. In the game they are different slots. In Bongo Cat, all skins replace the cat itself, its colour, breed or costume, while a hat only sits on its head. The developer said it plainly in a patch note from 30 August 2025, fixing a bug where cats with only one cosmetic equipped, either skin or hat, would not appear in multiplayer lobbies. Our full item database still lists both together, because that is how the source list is written. This page is the split view.

How many skins does Bongo Cat have?

Nobody outside the studio knows. The developer has never posted a skin count, and the numbers that do exist make any fan total look small. A single update on 26 May 2025 added 40 skins and 40 hats in one line of patch notes without naming a single one. So a bongo cat all skins list assembled from public sources, this one included, is a floor rather than a ceiling. What it can do honestly is name the 54 skins that a Steam page, a developer post or the community item list actually supports, and show you where each name came from.

One documented gap worth naming: the November 2025 animal shelter charity post introduced six cats, Bobby, Jerry, Luna, Teddy, Tommy and Vinci, and called them skins. Only Luna, the free one, reached the community item list we build on, so the other five are not in the checklist yet.

How we decided what counts as a skin

The item list this site is built on records a name and a rarity for every item, and nothing about which slot it fills. So the split happens in two passes, and every card tells you which pass it came from.

Pass one, confirmed. 17 skins are called a skin in writing by the Steam store or by the developer. Those cards carry a Confirmed badge and a link to the exact page the wording came from. If you disagree with one, the source is one click away.

Pass two, editorial. The remaining 37 are our own reading of the item name. This is a fan-site judgement call and not an official classification, which is why those cards say Editorial call rather than Confirmed. Five rules drive it:

Rule A. The same pool already carries a headwear item built on this word (Clown Hat, Pixel Hat, Dragon Wings and so on), so the bare entry is the cat, not the hat.
Rule B. The name is a colour or a coat pattern. That describes the cat itself, not something it wears.
Rule C. The name is an animal the cat is dressed as, which is a whole-body look rather than a head piece.
Rule D. The name is a full costume identity and carries no headwear noun.
Rule E. The developer announcement calls the set a costume, or the name matches a set whose other members Steam labels as skins.

Items that fit none of those rules cleanly are left out on purpose. Smaller Cat and Red Panda Baby are the clearest examples: both could be a companion perched on the cat rather than the cat itself, and a bongo cat all skins list that guesses on those is worth less than one that admits the gap. If you can point at an in-game screenshot that settles either, we will move them.

Can you still get the limited Bongo Cat skins?

No. Every event skin on this page comes from a window that has already closed, including the Halloween costume trio from October 2025 and the Blood Splatter skin handed out for two days after the Bongo Royale test. Trading with a friend who still owns one is the only remaining route, and event items are not always tradable.

What is the rarest Bongo Cat skin?

Among skins you can still pull yourself, the legendary chest skins sit at the bottom of the odds at roughly 1 in 500,000 per chest item. In practice the closed event skins are scarcer, because their supply stopped growing the day the event ended while the player base kept growing.

Are Bongo Cat skins free?

Most of the ones you can still obtain are. 31 of the 54 skins here come out of ordinary chests at no cost beyond your own typing. The 15 DLC skins and the supporter shop skins are paid, and they never enter the chest pool.

When were the newest Bongo Cat skins added?

The most recent dated skin release we can source is the Wild Wonders DLC on 27 June 2026, which added Bumble Kitten, Meowxolotl and Sea Purrtle. Before that, the God, Mecha and Squirrel packs all landed on 13 April 2026. The biggest entry in the patch history we hold is one nobody can list: a patch on 26 May 2025 added 40 skins and 40 hats without naming any of them. When each Bongo Cat skin arrived, and what closed

The two other Bongo Cat skin lists we checked in August 2026, the Fextralife wiki and bongocatdb, both record a name, a rarity and a market price per skin, and neither records when a skin arrived. That is the field that decides whether a skin is worth chasing: 7 of the 54 skins here have no route left open on any window we could find. Below is the release history reconstructed from dated Steam news posts and store listings, with the gaps left visible instead of filled in. Availability was last reconciled against those sources on 2026-08-12; it is a reading from that date, not a live check.

What this timeline cannot tell you

Of the 54 skins on this page, 19 can be pinned to a dated release, 4 belong to a release we can name but not date, and 31 cannot be placed at all. Every skin in that last group is a chest-pool skin, and that is not sloppiness, it is the shape of the source data: chest-pool items carry a name and a rarity and nothing else. A fan list that prints an “added on” date next to every chest skin has invented most of them.

Steam Animal Fest charity run. Only Luna reached the community item list this site is built on. Bobby, Jerry, Teddy, Tommy and Vinci are named in the developer post but have no entry in the item database, so they are counted here and absent from the checklist.
The unnamed skin batch. This is the single biggest hole in every Bongo Cat skin list, ours included. Forty skins entered the game with no names attached, and no fan list can reconcile them against the item database. Any total you read anywhere, this page included, is a floor.
Launch. The item list this site is built on records a name and a rarity per item and no date, so the individual chest skins cannot be dated. Anything in the chest column arrived somewhere between launch and today.
Wrestler pack. An announcement is not a release date and not a store listing. These three sit outside the dated timeline for that reason, even though the other nine skins from the same April wave are dated.
Supporter shop. No dated announcement and no public stock listing, so neither the date nor the current state can be sourced.
